Music Modernization Act Needs More Co-sponsors

The Music Modernization Act, one of the most important pieces of music legislation to come along in decades easily passed the U.S. House of Representatives and is in the Senate for consideration. Now that SESAC has officially come on board to support the MMA, it's up to the Senate to get it passed. The Music Modernization Act needs more co-sponsors. Music Modernization Act Introduced by Congress

Georgia Congressman, Doug Collins, has introduced H.R. 4706, the Music Modernization Act. The act updates licensing for Songwriters, including the issues of streaming. Co-Sponsors of the bill include Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Ted Lieu (D-CA). Support for the bill comes from ASCAP, BMI and NMPA, among other trade organizations.
