Curtis Martin Makes Billboard Chart; SB75 Nominated Band of the Year

Writer/producer, Curtis Martin, has made numerous appearances on Billboard's top Hard Rock Producers chart, debuting at number 9, then peaking at No. 5 in the reporting week of 1/21/23. (As of this writing, Martin has since re-entered the chart at No 10.) Martin's appearance on the chart is fueled by Catch Your Breath's latest single, "Dial Tone," which Martin co-wrote and produced.  The modern/alternative rock track has been receiving sizable support from CYB's label, Thriller Records, which the band signed to last year. "Dial Tone" is at almost 12 million Spotify streams, at the moment. The track has been averaging streams in [...]

Cadium Music’s 2021 Year-End Wrap and What’s Next

Admittedly, this post should have come earlier in the quarter. Instead of a close look at what transpired over the last few months, this piece has morphed into becoming Cadium Music's 2021 Year-End Wrap. The year got off to a fast start with the signing of writer and Rikets frontman, Scott Rose. COVID-19, however, continued to interrupt the creative process and the production of the new Rikets album, which included potential collaborations with Mark Lorenzo, got shelved. Southbound 75 Continue to Rise Southbound 75, continued to build its base in south Florida and finally released Tales from the Black Swamp through Bad Jeu [...]

Southbound 75 to Reach a New Level in Its Career

One of the silver linings of the COVID pandemic is that not all states have consistently locked down their bars and live music venues. If you speak to live acts in California, for example, many will tell you that they are not happy being cooped up in their living spaces and not being able to unleash their creativity in front of their fans. Due to Florida guidelines, however, the state has allowed country rockers Southbound 75 to reach a new level in its career. In case you haven't been following the story, Florida has a different attitude toward quarantines and lock downs. And [...]

Southbound 75 Debuts Its First Video

Image from The Country Network clip of Southbound 75's "Not Ready to Say I'm Sorry Yet" Since signing to Bill McDermott's Roxy Entertainment Group, Southbound 75 debuts its first video, July 15. "Not Ready to Say I'm Sorry Yet" will premiere on The Country Network. The video intends to add momentum to the Tampa, Florida-based country rockers, who recently played a live show in front of a live audience (but safely, of course). Hopefully the video will lead to more social-distanced performances in the near future. The period of the initial lockdown allowed the band more time to prepare the video [...]

Clockwise (top left): Bernard Porter of PCG, Bill McDermott, Mark Lorenzo, Vance Eskesen   Southbound 75 signed to REG (Roxy Entertainment Group). REG is Nashville producer, Bill McDermott's company. The alt country rockers have been working with McDermott (Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, George Strait), over the last year and resulting in the band's debut album Tales From The Black Swamp, to be released this summer. The lyric video to the band's debut single, "Not Ready to Say I'm Sorry Yet," is out now. The road to signing to REG was a long, but pleasant one. Spotted by Bernard Porter of PCG [...]

Southbound 75 Finish Florida State Fair with a Flurry

Some of the hardest work an act does is playing to live audiences. Everything from the planning and preparation for the show (or tour) to rehearsals and then there's the now and again setback to deal with. Since the second half of last year, Southbound 75 have been slowly growing into a consistent live act. Beginning with spot dates throughout Florida, to occasional callbacks to play some venues a second time (or more), to a residency in Key Largo for a few weeks. While playing every day (and multiple times a day) at this year's Florida State Fair, this is another step in [...]

Southbound 75 and Growing Your Live Show Audience

Southbound 75 recently had a run of dates at a club called Cowboy Bill’s in Key West Florida. The expectations were low, because the band and management didn’t know what to expect. In addition, the guys would be performing during Key West’s tourist off-season. It was a lesson in growing your audience. Due to SB75’s contractual obligations, the band wasn’t allowed any breaks during their four-hour sets, which inhibited their chances to mingle with patrons at the merch table. While the club’s attendance vacillated from near empty to reasonably full, the prospects of growing the Florida market looked dim for the first few [...]

Southbound 75 Gearing Up for More Shows

Country act, Southbound 75, have been around for a few years and playing mostly in the South Florida area from time to time; however, this year the band have been doing a significant amount of wood-shedding and working with producer Bill McDermott (Tim, McGraw, Brad Paisley, Jo Dee Messina) to upgrade their sound. Along side that, the band have been playing more shows. Along with time at the workbench, SB75 have also been able to get more of a foothold in the Florida club circuit, beginning with 10 shows in a two week period at Cowboy Bill's in Key West, September 18-29. Other [...]
