Red Dragon Cartel, the rock quartet led by guitarist Jake. E. Lee (ex-Ozzy Osbourne), has been submitted for Grammy nomination consideration.

The categories for which the band has been submitted are Best Rock Performance for the album “Patina,” Best Rock Song, “Havana” and Best Rock Album. Voting ends August 2.

“Patina” was written and recorded at bassist Anthony Esposito’s Obscenic Arts in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. Patina was mixed by Max Norman (Megadeth, Ozzy Osbourne, Bad Company).

The album was released last November and followed up with tours in North America and Japan.

“Patina” quickly gained great press both in the U.S. and abroad, as well as attracting tastemakers, social meda and fans alike.

The band’s tour earlier in the year didn’t come without some controversy, as Lee, an outspoken individual, responded frankly to questions about some of his guitarist peers and whether or not Ozzy Osbourne really snorted ants during Lee’s tenure while on the road with Ozzy.

Red Dragon Cartel also include lead vocalist Darren James Smith and drummer Phil Varone. #reddragoncartel #recordingacademy #patina #grammys
