Curtis Martin, Rob Endling Co-writes with Ded

Going back to early last year at The Hideout studio, Curtis Martin and Rob Endling were presented with an opportunity to work with rising metal act, Ded. Martin and Endling made the most of it, by not only co-writing the upcoming album, but adding production to it. The result, so far, is the co-write of "Eyes Sewn Shut," which is on the current EP (or "micro release"), Mannequin Eyes. (The other song is "A Mannequin Idol".) There's a good chance that the Curtis Martin, Rob Endling Co-writes with Ded will be mutually beneficial. The full album would probably be out by now, but [...]

The Invigorating Sounds of Piel

I was introduced to the invigorating sounds of Piel at a Hunnypot show in 2015. When I heard songs, such as “C.O.A.T” and “Babble On,” I was struck by the fact that I couldn’t easily categorize the band’s sound, which is a good thing. It had elements of rock, EDM and wisps of R&B – not a combination you hear very often. Still, the songs had a commercial radio quality to them, which could easily lead to surefire hits. I also thought to myself that this band should be signed to a label and marketed to modern rock radio. Not working with any [...]

Cadium Music Adds A&R to Its Services

For those who don’t know, my background is in A&R, both in the talent acquisition arena, as well as finding songs for artists. For years I have come across great talent, talent that had the potential to become national, if not global acts, only to watch them die on the vine, partially due to lack of exposure. Maybe I could have allotted a little more time to these acts, but as a publisher, my focus and attention was largely devoted to my writers. With this in mind, Cadium Music adds A&R tastemaker to its services. And the focus and attention of A&R will [...]

Southbound 75 Signed to REG

Clockwise (top left): Bernard Porter of PCG, Bill McDermott, Mark Lorenzo, Vance Eskesen   Southbound 75 signed to REG (Roxy Entertainment Group). REG is Nashville producer, Bill McDermott's company. The alt country rockers have been working with McDermott (Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, George Strait), over the last year and resulting in the band's debut album Tales From The Black Swamp, to be released this summer. The lyric video to the band's debut single, "Not Ready to Say I'm Sorry Yet," is out now. The road to signing to REG was a long, but pleasant one. Spotted by Bernard Porter of PCG [...]

Rushing and Konrad Oldmoney Collaboration Coming Soon

When he's not auditioning or shooting a project, Chester Rushing is working on his musical endeavors. Lately, it's been collaborating with writer/producer, Konrad Oldmoney, resulting in the track "Don't You Worry," which will drop May 15 on all platforms. The Rushing and Konrad Oldmoney collaboration is sounding promising.

Southbound 75 Finish Florida State Fair with a Flurry

Some of the hardest work an act does is playing to live audiences. Everything from the planning and preparation for the show (or tour) to rehearsals and then there's the now and again setback to deal with. Since the second half of last year, Southbound 75 have been slowly growing into a consistent live act. Beginning with spot dates throughout Florida, to occasional callbacks to play some venues a second time (or more), to a residency in Key Largo for a few weeks. While playing every day (and multiple times a day) at this year's Florida State Fair, this is another step in [...]

Southbound 75 to Play Florida State Fair in February

Southbound 75 will be performing at the Florida State Fair next month. To participate in the 12-day residency is a major coup for the band. Led by singer/guitarist and chief songwriter, Mark Lorenzo, SB75 will perform multiple times each day of the annual event and perform an additional set on the weekends. Southbound 75's dates next month will follow a consistent string of live dates, mostly in the south Florida area over the last four months, including a multiple-day residency in Key Largo back in September of last year. The Florida State Fair booking is, in part, due to the band performing throughout [...]

2020 Opens with Cadium News and Buzz

Before 2020 got started, Ekoh and Lolife released new material. Lolife dropped "Liar," which has a surprisingly nice Level 42 vibe to it - complete with saxophone. Curtis Martin co-wrote the track. Also, Ekoh decided to squeeze in one more song before the end of 2019 with "Owe You Nothin'." Martin and Sean Kennedy co-wrote. On to 2020... Not long after the year began, Ekoh released "Peace," which features Ember. Due to the alacrity of Ekoh releases, the production credits have yet to be sorted out. Rob Endling, Sean Kennedy and Curtis Martin all had a hand in the track. CM Talkington's debut album has a [...]

Cadium Year-End Wrap for 2019

For Cadium Music, it was the year of finally working in the genre of Hip hop. For years, the focus has been mostly in rock and pop (the genres the company knows best), but due to the discovery of up and coming rapper, Ekoh, the path to the hip hop world opened. The three writers (and signed to Cadium this year) who write in hip hop (and work with the aforementioned Ekoh) are Sean Kennedy, Curtis Martin and Rob Endling. All three writers are also producers and quite fluent in most, if not all, aspects of recording. Kennedy writes beats and in addition [...]

New Activity and Releases from Cadium Writers

In the last few weeks, the new Otherwise album is off to a good start, a new Ekoh track is out and Daybreak is number two in the world. Here is some of the new activity from Cadium Music. Otherwise's new album, Defy, was released last Friday, but the Rob Endling and Curtis Martin co-write, "Lifted," has been making it's way up the U.S. Active Rock charts, currently at number 39. While no one knows the future, word has it that the track will continue to rise up the charts.   Today, Ekoh released yet another song, "Never Enough." The track features Drowsy, [...]
