Chester Rushing has a voice-over role in the upcoming DreamWorks animation series, Fright Krewe. Rushing is the voice of Stanley, who is part of a group of teenagers, that accidentally awaken a VooDoo Queen and a group of ghosts that gifts them magical powers. The first episode airs October 20 on Hulu and Peacock.

Southbound 75 joins George Thorogood and the Destroyers, The Outlaws and Lita Ford for this year’s High Seas Rally. The cruise, which boards in Tampa, Florida and makes stops in Key West, Cozumel and Costa Maya, sets sail October 28 and returns to Tampa November 4. The cruise is billed as “The World’s Only Motorcycle Rally On a Cruise Ship.”

The band released what might be their last single leading up to the album with “You Should Know Why.” Curt Martin, Chris Linck and Kalan Blehm all have co-writes on the album with Martin and Linck producing much of the band’s album debut.

Catch Your Breath’s “Dial Tone” has cracked the Mediabase Active Rock top 30 chart. The track has been gaining steam since it’s release a year ago, amassing over 21 million streams on Spotify, so far. After signing with Thriller Records, the Curtis Martin co-write began making major leaps on Spotify, as well as getting airplay on Octane at the top of the year. More recently, the song has been getting picked up by terrestrial radio around the U.S.

Also on the chart is Otherwise’s “Full Disclosure” at number 26. The track was co-written by Curtis Martin and Rob Endling.

The new album from Ookay, Very Special, releases March 25. Curtis Martin handled much of the production of the record, including engineering, writing, vocal production, and vocal mixing. Leading up to Very Special, Ookay has worked on some major projects that have included Diplo, Noah Cyrus and Marshmellow. Curtis also has a co-write on the album with “Oxygen.”

The A&R arm of Cadium Music gets Los Angeles act, Piel, signed to Birs Recordings. The New York City-based label focuses on high-quality vinyl releases from artists making their debut commercial recording. The deal developed through Cadium writer/producer, Cisco DeLuna, who produced and mixed the album. DeLuna produced CM Talkington’s Not Exactly Nashville, released by Birs. (Talkington is also a Cadium writer.) At the time, the label was looking for a follow up project to the film director/singer/songwriter and Cadium brought DeLuna Piel as a possible new project. Piel’s album has been completed and should be out in the fall. Details on the release will be forthcoming.

Tree Man chronicles Leavell’s career from The Rolling Stones to John Mayer, but also gives insight to his love of the environment and commitment to family.

Ryan Oakes and Mod Sun drop a new song and video, “I’ll Be Damned,” today. The song (as of today) was added to Spotify’s New Noise playlist. The track was co-written and co-produced by Sean Kennedy.

Ekoh’s new album, The De2tour, debuted in the iTunes Hip Hop top 10. Among the artists in the top 10 of the chart are Eminem and Juice Wrld. Sean Kennedy, Rob Endling and Curtis Martin all co-wrote parts of the album and made production contributions to the record. The chart position made enough of an impact that it got the attention of the press. According to the Ekoh camp, more new material is on the way.

Southbound 75 have been added to the syndicated radio show New Country Brew. The show features primarily independent country artists, but their playlists have included Joe Diffie, Amy Grant and Charlie Daniels, to name a few. NCB airs on about two dozen stations around the country. Next week (August 10 – 16), SB75 will be one of the featured artists on the show and most likely it will air the band’s new single, “Not Ready to Say I’m Sorry Yet.”

Tiny Desk host Bob Boilen and Raina Douris of WXPN showcased Piel, bookending the band’s performance of “Custodian” with some discussion about the meaning of the song and the Piel “Greenhouse.” Piel’s portion of the event begins about 29 minutes into showcase. The band were among four other acts highlighted in the episode.

Chester Rushing has a new song out, which is a cover of the Maroon 5 song, “One More Night.” The track was produced by producer/composer, Jeff Fayman, to be placed in movie trailers. Fayman is a part of the BMG masters divsion, BMG Production Music (BMGPM). The track is part of an upcoming compilation produced by BMGPM. Rushing has recorded other songs, produced by Fayman, to be released later this year and early 2020.

Michael James is in production with Elliott Waits For No One members, creating new material for
C-Murder. The announcement was made last month. C-Murder (Corey Miller) had success in the 1990s and 2000s with releases such as Life Or Death. Miller is also the brother of Master P of No Limit Records. In 2002, Miller was accused of murder and sentenced to life in prison in 2009. Last year, witnesses recanted their testimony and Miller is attempting to get a new trial. The recording sessions are taking place outside Chicago, EWFNO’s hometown.

Memphis May Fire’s new album, Broken, has been released and was co-written and produced by Kane Churko. Churko co-wrote all 10 tracks on the record. The first single is “The Old Me.”  Churko also co-wrote, “Virus,” a one-off single previous to the release of Broken.

Cadium Music signs writer/producer/bassist Anthony Esposito. Esposito, an original member of Lynch Mob, co-wrote the first three studio Lynch Mob releases. Many of the tracks he co-wrote have been included on various rock compilations. Esposito went on to be Ace Frehley’s bass player and is currently a member of Red Dragon Cartel. Esposito co-wrote the upcoming RDC album, Patina, with Jake E. Lee. Anthony also has a thriving recording studio in Pennsylvania, Obscenic Arts.

Cisco DeLuna played on Randy Hauser’s upcoming album, due out on Stoney Creek Records later this year. Hauser, who has several charting singles at country radio, is on the road and De Luna has played back-up on some of those dates.

The Hideout, which is in Las Vegas, has been the recording home to Five Finger Death Punch, In This Moment, Hellyeah, As Lions and Disturbed. The multi-room facility is a popular spot for artists who are in town and want a great environment to lay something down while they’re in town. Other clients include Black Shelton and Lady Gaga. The Pro Sound Awards will be held in London, September 28th.

Hired Gun had its Los Angeles screening, last night, at the London Hotel. The film was executive-produced by Five Finger Death Punch guitarist, Jason Hook. Think 20 Feet from Stardom, but about Sidemen/women who perform in rock bands. Interviews and archival footage with musicians such as Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot) and Jay Graydon (Steely Dan) dominate this documentary, which is both insightful and entertaining, end to end. After the screening was a great Q&A with many of the musicians featured in the film, which at times, resulted in some uproariously funny moments.

Hired Gun releases this Summer on Netflix.

R.A.M.P’s niche is delivering score with a more live band sound, bypassing the typical canned feel arguably what many believe is prevalent in many television productions. Shrowded in secrecy for months, Disturbed went into the studio to record their long-awaited album with Kevin and Kane Churko.  The new set, which is due out later this year, was recorded at the Churko’s The Hideout the last quarter of 2014.  The first single is “The Vengeful One.”  Kevin co-wrote the album, which will have up to 19 songs, depending on the configuration of the release.  More details on Disturbed’s record, soon.

Five Finger Death Punch, once again, scores Gold in the U.S. with The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Vol. 1.  This is the fourth Gold album by the Las Vegas group, the last three with Kevin Churko as writer/producer. Kane Churko also contributed to the album, co-writing “M.I.N.E. End This Way.”  Sales of Vol. 1 were fueled by the title track, which reached #1 at rock radio.  The album is currently in the Billboard Top 200 Albums and has been on that chart for 61 weeks.

Five Finger Death Punch’s “Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell” is #1 at Rock radio.  “Wrong Side,” co-written by Kevin Churko, is FFDP’s fourth #1 at the format.  The video also fueled the song’s rise to the top of the chart partly to it’s emotional message of the mistreatment and neglect of America’s servicemen.  The video to “Wrong Side” was directed by Nick Peterson.

Mark Lorenzo has dipped his toes in Country water with the creation of his project, Southbound 75.  The band recently signed with Atlanta-based, CBM records and have almost an entire album already in the can.  Southband 75 are looking to release its debut in the first quarter of next year.  More details coming as they develop.

The new Papa Roach album, F.E.A.R., was recently completed and is due out early 2015.  F.E.A.R. (Face Everything And Rise) was co-written and produced by Kevin and Kane Churko.  Normally, the Churkos write with artists in a collaborative effort, but due to heavy activity at Kevin’s Hideout Studio, each Churko co-wrote and produced a part of the album independently of the other.  No worries, though, as the band have been vocal about how well the record came out.

Look for the first single, “Face Everything and Rise,” to be released before the end of the year.  The song was also co-written by Kane Churko.

Hellyeah received plenty of activity this past weekend with the limited free download of the song, “Cross to Bier,” on iTunes.  The retail release of the track comes out today.  The album, “Blood For Blood,” comes out June 10.

Hellyeah’s record label, Eleven Seven, ran a sneak promotion of the lead track from the band’s new album, Blood for Blood.  The promotion of “Cross to Bier (Cradle of Bones),” happened Friday and Saturday (3/21 and 3/28) as a free download on iTunes.  The track quickly drew close to 10,000 downloads during the promo period and went on to sell many more.  BfB, which includes “Bier,” along with other Kevin and Kane Churko co-writes, releases in June.

Kevin Churko is nominated twice for a Juno for Producer of the Year.  The first is for his work on In This Moment’s The Dream and for his work for Las Vegas rockers, Modern Science.  Churko is all ready a two-time Juno Award winner for his work on Ozzy Osbourne’s Black Rain and Simon Collins’ U-Catastrophe.

Cisco DeLuna contributed to the score of The Judge and the General, which was nominated for an Emmy award. The documentary, about the trial of dictator Augusto Pinochet in 1998, is a candidate in the Outstanding Historical Programming – Long Form category.  The program first aired on the PBS segment, “POV” last summer.  The Emmy Awards take place September 20 in Los Angeles.

Kevin Churko co-wrote two songs with Five Finger Death Punch, which will appear on the band’s new album, “War is the Answer,” out next week.  The songs are “Bulletproof” and “Far From Home.”  The album is available at a pre-sale price now.

Kevin Churko co-wrote one tune on the new Adelitas Way album.  The song, “So What If You Go,” lands on the group’s Virgin Records debut, which releases tomorrow.  Kevin also produced part of the album.

Former Lizzy Borden guitarist Ira Black joins Lorenzo.  Black, who joined the band last week, played one of his first dates with the guys performing at the MMA Big Show, which airs in the coming weeks.

Kevin Churko is in the studio with hard rockers Finger Finger Death Punch.  Kevin is producing at least part of the album, in a studio in Las Vegas.

The Green Car Motel will be releasing their first album on Switzerland’s Suonix Records.  The disc will include two Cisco DeLuna co-writes: “Debestar” and “Destino de Abril.”  Suonix plans to release the album later this year in both Europe and Japan.

Kevin Churko wins Juno for Engineer of the Year!  Kevin wins his second Juno (his first was last year for engineering Ozzy Osbourne’s “Black Rain”) for his work on the Simon Collins album, “U-Catastrophe.”  Churko was specifically awarded for his recording of the songs “Disappearing” and “The Big Bang,” both of which he co-wrote with Simon.

Ozzy Osbourne co-writer/producer, Kevin Churko has written the theme song for the upcoming Ozzy TV show, “Osbournes: Reloaded.”  The show debuts Tuesday, March 31 on Fox.

Kevin is also writing new material with Ozzy for the follow-up to “Black Rain.”  Kevin will also produce the album.

Kevin Churko receives another Juno nomination for Engineer of the Year for his work on the Simon Collins album,”U-Catastrophe.”  This is the third nomination for Kevin.  His other nominations came last year for Engineer of the Year and Producer of the Year, for Ozzy Osbourne’s “Black Rain.”  Kevin went on to win the Juno for Engineer of the Year. The Juno Awards will be held in Vancouver, March 29th.

Cisco DeLuna begins co-scoring the next Fina Torres film, “A Bed for Eva” with Barbara Cohen. Torres directed “Woman on Top”, starring Penélope Cruz. “Eva” is a Venezuelan picture that takes place in Cuba.
